When joining a dating site, you will encounter many reasons that men will give for being a part of the site. Within a couple of exchanges, you can pretty much flush out their true intentions for utilizing the site. I will list a few of the reasons I have encountered thus far below:
The list goes on and on, and as time goes I am sure I will be able to provide personal anecdotes for all of the reasons why men join an online dating site.
Having learned the hard way (both literally and figuratively), you MUST set up your deal breakers upon first contact. I am proud to say that I feel I am pretty open minded, and I really do not want to judge why someone is using a dating site (lest YE be judged.) I only know the reasons why I signed up for online dating, and it is my responsibility to make sure that I am clear about my rules of encounter. It may sound harsh, but the first thing I let be known is I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A PHOTO OF YOUR ANATOMY THAT YOU WOULD NOT WANT ME TO FURTHER ON TO YOUR MOTHER AND YOUR PRIEST. I pretty much say it as bluntly as possible. You will hear stories as to why I have written that expectation in red letters on my door, but those are for later posts.
The second thing I let a person know is if their intention is for sexting, then I am not your girl (although there are many girls out there who probably would love to engage in that activity with you.) For those of you who are unaware of the definition of sexting, it is compound form of the words sex and texting. It is the act of letting someone know by words either what you want them to do to you, or what you want to do to them. Once again, without passing judgment, to each their own. You must be vigilant about not letting conversations stray down this course, because the male creature (or at least 99% of the ones I have encountered) are looking for the tiniest bit of encouragement to proffer in detail exactly what you are doing to them. For example, a man might ask how your day was at work... and you counter with "I had a hard day at work." Immediately, you will receive communication connecting the adjective hard (from your work reference) to their state of their being. See the trap?

1. You are looking for a girlfriend.
2. You are looking for someone to date.
3. You are looking for someone to send photos of your penis to unsuspectingly.
4. You are too cheap to pay for online porn. (i.e. you beg for women to send photos of themselves)
5. You are looking for someone to help entertain your children.
6. You are looking for someone to be your sugar momma.
